Of Spanish origin, Dr. Irene Méndez-Manjón graduated in Dentistry from the University of Santiago de Compostela, in Spain, and was awarded the Extraordinary End-of-Career Prize, which is awarded to the year’s best employee.
She then began her career in Barcelona (Spain). There, she completed a Clinical Residency in Oral Implant Dentistry, a Master’s Degree in Clinical Research and Biomaterials in Dentistry and the International Master’s Degree in Oral Surgery. The latter is a 3-year theoretical-practical training course in which only 6 students per year are trained in the areas of surgery, implantology and oral rehabilitation.
She also obtained a doctorate with a special mention of Excellent Cum Laude in the area of the Temporomandibular Joint in the context of Orthognathic Surgery. As a result, she became a professor at the International University of Catalonia in the International Master’s Degree in Oral Surgery and Surgical Medical Pathology-UIC.
Still in Barcelona, he had the opportunity to work at the Maxillofacial Institute of the Teknon Medical Center, considered the best private maxillofacial surgery center in Spain by the Monitor de Reputación Sanitaria-MRS for three consecutive years.
He came to live in Brazil six years ago for family reasons and is now happy to be able to practice his profession in this country.
Throughout his career he has published several international scientific papers, the most recent being “Definition of New Three-Dimensional Cephalometic Analytics of Maxillomandibular Sagittal Relationship of Orthodontics and Orthognathic Surgery: Normative Data Based on 700 CBCT Sacns” in 2023.

Former professor of the “International Master in Oral Surgery” (UIC-Barcelona) and Guest Professor “ad honorem” at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina). Postgraduate degree in Pain from the Albert Einstein Institute.

A specialist in the treatment of chronic pain, Dr. Izabella has extensive experience in tension headaches, neck pain related to the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and dysfunctions of the masticatory muscles. She has also mastered advanced manual therapy and dry needling techniques, and is a reference in physiotherapy for Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMD) and post-operative rehabilitation for orthognathic surgery.
