Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology, Master’s Degree and Doctorate. With a postgraduate degree in Pain from the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, Dr. Irene Méndez-Manjón brings together academic training of international excellence and a consolidated clinical career.
Of Spanish origin, he graduated in Dentistry from the University of Santiago de Compostela, in Spain, and was awarded the Extraordinary End of Career Prize for the best academic achievement of the year.
He then began his career in Barcelona (Spain), where he completed a Clinical Residency in Oral Implant Dentistry, a Master’s Degree in Clinical Research and Biomaterials in Dentistry and the International Master’s Degree in Oral Surgery – a three-year theoretical-practical training course in which only six students per year are trained in the areas of surgery, implant dentistry and oral rehabilitation.
She obtained her doctorate with a special mention for excellence Cum Laude, with research focused on the Temporomandibular Joint in the context of Orthognathic Surgery. From then on, she became a professor at the International University of Catalonia (UIC-Barcelona), on the International Master’s Degree in Oral Surgery and Medical-Surgical Pathology.
Still in Barcelona, he had the opportunity to work at the Maxillofacial Institute of the Teknon Medical Center, considered the best private maxillofacial surgery center in Spain for three consecutive years, according to the Monitor de Reputación Sanitaria (MRS).
Six years ago, he moved to Brazil for family reasons and today he finds fulfillment practicing his profession in this country.
Throughout his career, he has published several international scientific articles, the most recent being:
“Definition of New Three-Dimensional Cephalometric Analytics of Maxillomandibular Sagittal Relationship of Orthodontics and Orthognathic Surgery: Normative Data Based on 700 CBCT Scans” (2023).
She is an international lecturer, author of articles published in peer-reviewed journals, former professor of the International Master in Oral Surgery (UIC-Barcelona) and Ad Honorem Guest Professor at the Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina).

She has been a physiotherapist for 8 years, with a postgraduate degree in Acupuncture from the McKenzie Method. Her personalized approach uses this technique to prescribe appropriate movements and postures, promoting pain relief and restoring patients’ functionality.
A specialist in the treatment of chronic pain, Dr. Izabella has extensive experience in tension headaches, neck pain related to the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and dysfunctions of the masticatory muscles. She has also mastered advanced manual therapy and dry needling techniques, and is a reference in physiotherapy for Temporomandibular Dysfunction (TMD) and post-operative rehabilitation for orthognathic surgery.
